I’m Hugh Wheelan and I’ve been a journalist and media entrepreneur in sustainable finance for 25+ years.

My Linked-In profile is here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hugh-wheelan-8449663/

I’m passionate about how we can improve environmental issues, social conditions, the way we are governed and how we organise ourselves.

I’m a partisan of robust, informative and insightful journalism, and how that gets done in a world of cacophony, post-truth and budget constraints.

I’ve written about these themes for a long time as a financial journalist, much of it under the auspices of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance); a shorthand for sustainable economics.

For this site, I’m going to be writing about where the critical ESG themes of our time collide with business, finance and the media. What’s working, what’s not, why, and how progress might be made?

This is my ‘eye’ on ESG. It’ll be a mix of deep-dive reporting, commentary and other formats.

I’m also mad about music, writing and a lot of arts stuff: cinema, theatre, performing arts, painting, poetry, playing music. I’ve got some old cars too. And I like hiking. I’ll write about some of that from time to time too. That’s the I in ESG+I.

Really interested to hear your I in ESG, and your I more generally on some of the other topics I post!
